I believe my son is allergic to Gerber single grain Rice cereal, is there anything else I can give him?

I believe my son is allergic to Gerber Single Grain Rice Cereal, he is only 10 weeks old, but his doctor wanted me to start thickening his formula with it, due to his spitting up and drinking it too fast! I started doing this, but within 24 hours of doing this, he started projectile vomiting and throwing up after feeding him. I did have pyloric stenonis, but had surgery to correct it and was doing well there for awhile, til I started the cereal with him. I wanted to know if there is any other type of cereal out there that I can give to him? Has anyone else experienced this if, so what did you have to do? The doctor told me to give him 1 tsp per ounce that he was drinking, he was drinking 4 oz, so he got 4 tsp of cereal added! Any suggestions or help with this would be greatly appreciated. He also has acid reflux, not sure if this has anything to do with the vomiting or not. I stopped giving him the cereal in the bottles and he stopped throwing up, so I am thinking it was the cereal for sure! I am planning on calling the doctor tomorrow about this, but in the mean time what to see what others thought, or if anyone else experienced this! Thank you for your time!
I thought 1 tsp for every ounce was too much but my doctor said no! And I said, well I thought he would be too little to be put on cereal already and she said, no that they put 1 week old babies on cereal!
